(MOORPARK, CA) Due to the pandemic, small businesses are catering to those in desperate need. The two owners of the coffee mobile unit from Oxnard, Ca., Natalie Ramos and her husband Jose Ramos got permitted on March 11, 2020 to start working and shut down March 13, 2020 due to COVID-19.

The couple planned to expand their business and saw a need to get started in this line of work from being at other local festivals and events visited by their other mobile units known as “WeBeeGrubbin” and “WeBeePoppin”.

Coffee populated over the years with the inclusion of commodities, starting as it was being drunk just black and bitter and evolving into different businesses over time with adding different flavors and ingredients for taste.

The business during the pandemic had a “slower year than anticipated with all the events planned that were shutdown,” Natalie Ramos states.

Once they were slowly opened back up, other events took place throughout the year such as generously serving students and faculty at Cal Lutheran University,  scheduling fundraisers, the Simi Valley Hospital staff, and at Underwood Family Farms to serve families who love their daily dose of coffee.

Overtime, now in 2023, with the help of social media, having multiple connections, and being located at a well known farm, Underwood Family Farms exploited their sales for festivals to skyrocket more and more over the past two years.

This business is fast paced and rushes their customers' drinks out in a timely manner. “Wow, you guys are fast at making drinks!”, Angela, a customer of WeBeeGrindin exclaimed.

Not only do they serve hot and iced regular and seasonal gourmet coffee but they serve muffins for a quick bite to complement the coffee. As well as fresh smoothies and teas for the non caffeine lovers and children so there is something for everybody.

While Simi Valley hospital workers are working long hours, so is this coffee shop with a helping hand of coffee to rejuvenate their energy.

“We started working for the Simi Valley Hospital in June 2020 after the hospital reached out to us from seeing us at our main location, Underwood Family Farms,” Ramos states.

WeBeeGrindin appreciates and thanks the hard working staff at the hospital during these harsh times. Whatever time of day the employees of this coffee truck always have smiles on their faces and joy in their voice.

When asked “how does having the hospital as clients benefit the business?” Ramos expresses, “It was very helpful having the hospital as clients since events were canceled due to the pandemic.”

Overall, the company had a successful outcome of serving Underwood Family Farm customers and the Simi Valley hospital and helped with the morale for staff that worked there. With all the circumstances having to revolve and adapt to these harsh times, the pandemic with numbers increasing, the business still continued to work on a weekly basis.
