How PR is Useful for Twitch Streamers and the Gaming Industry

Gaming has increased viewership widely in the past couple of years especially with the pandemic. With the world stuck inside of their homes for too long with little to no contact, many have taken on a chance to open their eyes to new experiences with gaming. Many wanted to keep those same connections with their friends and loved ones while also being entertained.

Since I am a Twitch streamer, gaming has helped me mentally and the marketing has caught my attention in numerous ways. Developers make gaming a true experience and keep their viewers on the edge of their seats. Not to mention how the realism in so many games has touched many hearts from the dedication these creators have put into these games including “The Last of Us: Part 2” and “Resident Evil: Village”. Gaming media is extremely useful and this has brought so many people including not only gamers but superfans, journalists, children, and adults.

Content is what is on everyone's mind, including mine! With my twitch channel I do my best to promote myself on all social media platforms available because you must do what you can to gain attraction and grow your audience. There are plenty of things to make your content pop out, you just need to know what exactly to provide for your certain audience.

An online newsroom is perfect for gaming PR. It is an online website for you to promote everything you have including your branding. You may post any update you think is necessary for your audience as well as the press. If people are curious about a game or any updates then you may share a link and it will take them to your special newsroom and boom! It’s easy as that and they get everything they need to know about any specific game or update. Engaging with your community is very important and with each topic you bring, it keeps them on their toes which is exactly what you want.

You can place so many things around media when working for PR in this industry. On your website, it can be how characters will look, some unseen gameplay, maybe contests for members of the community to have a chance to win merchandise or a giftcard, news about specific voice actors, the lore of a specific game, etc. The possibilities are endless and make a difference. The game “Five Nights at Freddy’s” has an insane lore and it is one of my favorites. I love sharing what I know about it to other people. Being able to learn and appreciate the backstory on games is what makes gaming enjoyable. Game developers work hard to provide the best experience possible.

Overall, I’m excited to see what is in store for the future of gaming and how PR will bring light toward these games. I know that so many games have changed not only my life but others around me and I’m definetly happy to be apart of this community.
