With the world being so diverse, marketing and serving a multicultural society has become more prevalent. The Bonita Project is a public relations agency based on the East Coast that has been serving beauty, fashion, and lifestyle brands since 2018. The PR group is run by Latinx women that work with brands to further enhance their engagement with multicultural communities.

CEO and founder of The Bonita Project, Danielle Alvaraz has worked alongside her team to amplify BIPOC communities in a multitude of services. With over 5 ways to serve their clients they work tirelessly to continue to represent the diverse community these brands serve.

While working with other brands they have also created their own program, #BonitaAmplifies. This new program they started aims to amplify BIPOC creators in hopes to partner with brands and make connections throughout the industry as well as provide creator grants and social media features. Which they have found to be successful so far.

In March, Bonita Amplifies hosted their first mixer located in the heart of Little Caribbean, Brooklyn. Their mixer worked to close the gap between black creators within the industry during Black History Month while partnering with Urban Decay and other small local businesses. Their most recent event was hosted on behalf of Valdé, one of their clients. Similar to their first mixer,  this event welcomed Latine influencers and editors to mingle and also announce Valdé’s second annual Latinx Beauty Grant.

The Bonita Project continues to work hard to amplify the voices of BIPOC creators, entrepreneurs, and small business owners. While doing this they have worked to make  room for those who are not often given the opportunity.

What does this mean for BIPOC creators in the future? It provides hope and belonging in a space where there is very little representation. There is still a lot of work to be done to break “traditional” beauty standards, but, The Bonita Project has opened that door to allow the brands they work closely with to be more inclusive and diverse.
