How effective is the Starbucks x Delta Air Lines loyalty partnership?

Can your pumpkin spice latte earn you points with Delta Airlines? Starbucks and Delta Airlines have highly praised reward programs and are teaming so customers can earn more SkyMiles and points. Essentially their collaboration makes sure that every eligible dollar people spend at Starbucks is equal to one Delta SkyMile.

 Who does this benefit?

Whether you are a Starbucks regular or constantly on business trips through Delta, you are able to stack up points for each company. On days you have a flight with Delta, your Starbucks points will be doubled. According to Business Wire, the Vice President of loyalty at Delta said this partnership aims to “give customers valuable, premium experiences not just on the day they travel but in their everyday lives as well”

 Is the campaign effective?

The partnership is a great way to rack up points a lot faster than waiting for your next flight to be booked. From long flights to early flights, flying can be a tiring experience. I do not know about you, but Starbucks is a necessary and mandatory purchase anytime I fly somewhere. Coffee and flights just make sense. It is safe to say that most people buy more coffee than catching flights so racking up mile points can be more of a challenge to some. This collaboration is going to raise awareness about the Starbucks reward program while influencing others to utilize and favor Delta Airlines over the competitor. Delta News links multiple websites on how you can merge your points to get started.

Does the campaign only benefit Delta?

While customers will get more Delta SkyMiles with this campaign it also helps to raise more awareness about the Starbucks Rewards program which in turn will entice more people to use their Starbucks Rewards points. Once you have merged the accounts before December 31st, 2022, you will receive 150 Stars, with double stars on the day of your flight. The campaign appears to have collaborated with an appropriate fan favorite.
