Shakira who we also know to be as “Shak” has openly expressed her separation with Gerard Pique. In her newest song, she goes into detail about his infidelity with model Clara Chia Martin and includes how Pique’s mother has condoned his extramarital relationship. The couple went from being together for 11 years and two children to breaking up after inspecting a jar of strawberry jelly.
The Colombian singer had come to the conclusion that soccer player Gerard was cheating on her after noticing a jar of strawberry jam was half empty. Though this might not have been the only way she found out, the clue became viral on the internet giving people the idea to mark their groceries. After the announcement of their split in June 2022 Pique then introduced new girlfriend Clara Martin seven months later, conveniently the song “Music Session Vol. 53” was then released that same month, Jan. 2023.
Due to the drama unfolding, it caught the eye of the public and flourished throughout the internet, articles were written and made headlines on the news. This became beneficial to the She-Wolf artist as her song and music video received 63 million views on YouTube and over 14 million streams on Spotify within 24 hours. By the end of the week, the song carried the title for most streamed Latin track ending in over 80 million plays. After the success of the single, both Shakira and BZRP took the stage on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to celebrate their accomplishments.
