Agency 398 Returns for Yet Another Semester
NORTHRIDGE, Calif. (Oct. 8, 2021)— After a summer-long hiatus, CSUN’s student-run public relations firm has been assigned a new body of nonprofit clients who will be put at the forefront of their audience by up-and-coming PR professionals.
This semester, 20 of our very own journalism students will represent the Tom and Ethel Bradley Center, KCSN 88.5 FM, North Valley Caring Services, the Autonomy Research Center for STEAHM (ARCS) and Agency 398 itself.
While each client is unique, there is no turning down exposure. Agency 398 was established to give them exactly that, and more. Client teams work around the clock to curate and execute PR plans, press releases, social media management, event planning, website development, media relations, branding, community engagement, grassroots outreach and far much more. Of course, each approach is tailored to fit the specific needs of each client because the ultimate goal is everlasting growth and audience connection.
JOUR 398B/C are corequisite courses that provide students with hands-on experience to professionally coordinate public relations activities pro bono, on behalf of Agency 398 and its clients. It is expected that all accumulated classroom knowledge is applied to real world challenges being faced by each nonprofit. Guided with academic rigor, students must “learn to think critically, creatively and independently,” according to Agency 398 Director Stacy Long.
Great results should be expected in December, as this semester’s batch of PR professionals in the making are already a quarter way through their workload and making significant progress. After all, this is Not Your Old School PR.
