Luxury Brands & PR

November 2, 2020 | by Yun Hsuan Chou (Coco Chou)

Look over this year, every country has been impacted by COVID-19. The price of flight tickets has gone down and many restaurants have closed down. Following this situation, what makes me curious is why those luxury brands still look “perfect” in this hard year?

Since the pandemic happened, many offline activities can not be held, such as the grand fashion show and the latest season's boutique exhibition. The immediate crisis makes luxury brands start to realize the importance of conversions from customers on e-commerce platforms. The demand for crisis management have risen up and public relations companies gradually became popular.

Luxury brands start to embrace social media, influencers become an important marketing tool on social media. The talent of public relations professionals help communicate with those influencers, it can bring the growth with the influencer herself and brand outstanding achievement together. Brands should consider public relations companies as an investment and create the most value together.

Every brand and everyone met the pandemic for the first time, and being a public relations professional has been a key role for those businesses. The industry of public relations will grow positively for sure since a good reputation is really essential at this time. The lesson to the business and the brand in the Coronavirus period is that they realize companies need to react promptly and prepare early. If a brand just holds on and does nothing, waiting for the pandemic to pass and return to the old-time, the new opportunities will go and will never know how to create a development with a public relations professional.

Yun Hsuan Chou (Coco Chou) is a senior at California State University, Northridge majoring in Public Relations born in Taipei, Taiwan, equipped with bilingual ability.
